Borat is a movie that has caused a great deal of controversy. The movie is funny, but the jokes make fun of women, Jewish people, and Gays. The controversy has two sides, those who view the movie as entertainment and those who are outraged because they feel this movie gives people of all ages the impression that there is nothing wrong with having fun at the expense of others. They also feel the movie stereotypes women and Jews in a manner that is disrespectful and not true.

One of the reasons Borat has caused such as stir is because the movie is portrayed as a documentary film. Many viewers believed that it was a realistic documentary, giving more fuel to the fire regarding the information contained in it. Another view of this film is that the producer, Sacha Baron Cohen, is brilliant. Maybe the purpose behind the film is to get people to take notice of how ignorant such behaviors truly are in our society. While many feel the jokes in the movie are border line offensive, they do make people stop and take notice. Maybe it will reflect back to their own statements as well as those made by others they converse with.

Whether you make the choice to see the film Borat or not, it is likely you will hear people talking about it. Some will find it fun entertainment while others will take it as offensive material that should not be available to the public. The producer is remaining quiet about the reasons behind such a film, leaving audiences and critics to draw their own conclusions. Cohen is no stranger to developing and marketing films that the general public finds controversial. While some individuals will go see this movie because of the trailers, it is likely many viewers will see it just to find out what all the hype is about.

How do you create a website that the search engines love? It’s simple really - have lots of targeted content that closely relates to your site theme.

Recently though, we have heard a lot about “duplicated content” and how that can damage your site rankings in Google. You’ll see a frenzy of people saying things such as:

“Oh I mustn’t publish this article, I’ll get done for duped content”.

“I shouldn’t use private label rights content because others will be using the same content and that will hurt my chances of getting free search engine traffic.”

But do you know what? Before jumping on the “duped content is evil” bandwagon, consider these facts:

(a) There are a LOT of high ranking websites that are just plastered with nothing BUT duplicate content. If duplicated content really does matter, why aren’t these sites being banned from the engines?

(b) Google itself has not said that duplicated content is a no-no. Sure, it doesn’t exactly wear its heart on its sleeve when it comes to disclosing the factors it uses to rank sites but even so there has been little indication from Google that duplicated content will hurt your website.

(c) There are those to whom this “duplicated content” hysteria is very convenient and profitable. For example it gives people the opportunity to create products, books and software that deals with the dreadful issue of duplicated content. Article content changer software is a prime example of this - this niche market is worth a small fortune as content publishers who buy private label rights are forced to fork out a hundred or so bucks to allow them to make their purchased content unique in the eyes of search engines. It’s in the software developers interests to cause a stir about duped content because the moment it’s revealed that duplicate content isn’t really an issue they’ll lose a lot of sales overnight.

So how do you move forward with any level of certainty? You know search engines do like fresh content but what if you just don’t have the time to plug in content that’s 100% unique? The best way is to use a model that adds both unique content as well as purchased content (or free content from article directories) and optimise the page accordingly (remember - your page titles should all be individually optimised to the content).

Ultimately, unless you are employing blatantly unethical tactics to trick the search engines, the issue of duplicated content will not be a particularly tricky one for your websites. What does matter is that your site is well optimised and has plenty of back links from high ranking sites coming in. That’s the sort of thing that gets you rated high - even if your site has some content that’s commonly plastered over the internet.

Our skiing had come to an end and I allocated the last full day in Banff to explore some more local attractions while my husband headed into Calgary to do some shopping. We got going at about 11:30 am and Nigel dropped me off at the foot of the Banff Gondola. This historic attraction has been around since 1959 and the gondola was just recently reconstructed and reopened in 1998 and features a state-of-the-art gondola system engineered by a Swiss gondola construction company.

On the parking lot of the gondola you can see a big bus with oversized wheels called the “Ice Explorer”. This is the type of vehicle used to carry tourists onto the famous Columbia Icefields located between Lake Louise and Jasper National Park.

The gondola takes you from 1583 m (5,194 feet) at the base station to 2,281 m (7,486 feet) to the upper terminal on Sulphur Mountain in just 8 minutes. On the way up I enjoyed the wonderful view of the townsite of Banff, looking down at the Banff Springs Hotel.

At the top of Sulphur Mountain is a complex of visitor services that includes a restaurant called the Regal View Garden. No doubt this is a rather appropriate name since the panorama from Sulphur Mountain is truly something to behold. The summit gondola station also features a roof-top observation deck that is equipped with a variety of arrows, indicating directions and distances to major world cities.

The one kilometer interpretive boardwalk takes you over to Sanson’s Peak which is the location of the 1903 Stone Observatory. Norman Sanson observed the weather from Sanson’s Peak for every week for 30 years and recorded his observations. Near the observatory is the foundation of a designated National Historic Site: the Sulphur Mountain Cosmic Ray Station that measured cosmic radiation during the 1950s and 1960s. Along this boardwalk there are a variety of informative panels informing you about local fauna and flora in this unique habitat.

The gondola brochure points out that you may actually encounter local wildlife such as Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Golden Mantled Squirrels, Bald Eagles and Golden Eagles. Although I didn’t run into any major wildlife, I enjoyed the majestic view from the mountain and the peacefulness that surrounds it.

I had a little snack in the cafeteria and sat right next to the picture window and looked down onto the townsite of Banff. It wasn’t a perfectly clear day and Cascade Mountain’s top was covered in mist and cloud, but the view from Sulphur Mountain is one of the most astounding panoramas anywhere.

After my wonderful mountain break, I took the gondola down - although I was debating whether I should take a snowy forest pathway all the way down the mountain which I kept seeing from the gondola. From the base station I walked over to the Banff Upper Hot Springs. The Canadian Rockies limestone mountains have all sorts of fissures and hot springs feed geothermally heated water right up through one of the cracks to the Banff Upper Hot Springs.

The springs were discovered in 1894 and contain steaming water loaded with minerals. Even in the winter people sit in the open-air pool and enjoy the medicinal waters of the Upper Hot Springs. The fully restored bathhouse dates back to the 1930s and also provides day spa facilities offering massage therapy, a steam room, aromatherapy and other facilities. A restaurant and snack bar are also located in the Bathhouse.

For a minute I was tempted to try the Hot Springs myself, but I didn’t have a bathing suit with me. Although the retail shop in the Bathhouse sells bathing suits I decided that rather than relaxing in the hot water I’d get a bit more exercise and I started my walk towards town.

Instead of taking the main road back to town I took a forest path that connects the Banff Upper Hot Springs with the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. It was a beautiful peaceful walk through the trees and it would have been perfect if I hadn’t been wearing the world’s most slippery boots. I had to watch every step on the sloping forest terrain to make sure I didn’t wipe out, and I finally arrived at the bottom of the hill, relieved to be back on a paved parking lot right next to the Banff Springs Hotel.

I strolled by this famous Banff landmark into town and crossed the road to explore the grounds of Canada Place, the home of the Banff Park administration since 1936. During the summer Canada Place offers free admission to an exhibit that celebrates Canada’s land, culture and achievements.

During the winter the facility is closed, but the view from the surrounding Cascade Gardens towards Cascade Mountain is stunning on a clear day. I wasn’t so lucky, for our entire week in Banff we never got to see famous Cascade Mountain completely clear and free of clouds. But never mind, the glimpses that we did catch gave us a feeling for this amazingly photogenic natural feature that is always pictured on Banff postcards.

From Canada Place I crossed the bridge over the Bow River and I visited another important landmark: the Banff Park Museum. It is one of Canada’s oldest and grandest natural history museum, housed in a historic “railway pagoda”, built in 1903, the largest and most elaborate example of early park design, using decorative cross-log construction.

Specimens inside the museum include mountain goats, deer, cougars, bisons, bears, a large variety of birds and mammals and some of these specimens date back to the 1860s. Norman Sanson, the weatherman on Sanson’s Peak, was the curator of this museum for over 30 years, and personally collected thousands of specimens for this museum.

The museum also holds a library where you can browse through a variety of books and magazines. After I had informed myself about Western Canada’s wildlife I strolled down Banff’s main street, aptly named Banff Avenue, I strengthened myself with a quick late lunch in the food court at the Cascade Plaza Shops, one of Banff’s main shopping plazas. After lunch I headed back out on the street and a very chilly mountain wind had started blowing. This was my last walk through Banff on this vacation and I was mentally saying goodbye to this picturesque mountain town.

If you are planning to purchase an aquarium, you will want to make sure that your fish stay healthy, and the only way to ensure this is by cleaning the tank regularly. Many small stores do not carry everything you need so you might want to visit a larger store, the larger stores have many more items in stock for you to purchase. The aquarium is the home the fish live in and must be maintained for the welfare of the fish.

Before even setting up your tank decide what kind of fish you are going to keep, some people don’t have much time on their hands and so low maintenance cold or easy to manage tropical fish are the best ways to go, for those with much more time and a higher level of commitment there are many varied species to chose from, including the easiest to care for fresh water fish to beautiful and fascinating marine fish.

Unfortunately rushing to the pet store and picking out the prettiest, most colorful and interesting looking tropical fish is not the best way to stock the tank. Some people have synthetic decorations and rock for there fish tanks.

If you are thinking about purchasing a fish for your saltwater tank you need to plan it out first and make sure that the fish you purchase can live in the environment with the other fish. The first step to your fish tank is setting it up and this is only the beginning. After the fish tank is setup you will need to make many adjustments, some of the adjustments are the water temperature, food and lighting, plus you must consider the items and decorations that you put into the tank.

A fish tank that is a salt water tank needs to mimic the ocean, the salt water needs to be the same salinity and the environment needs to be very similar. Once you get your tank up and running with no problems you will able to enjoy the salt water tank and the fish.

Lighting is actually as important as filtration it mimics the day light and the night so fish think they are in their natural habitat. When choosing a salt water tank and filtration systems it can be a very confusing process since there are so many to choose from. One of the most important things to remember is that filtration is very important when taking care of you tank.

For freshwater fish you may be able to get by without having one. Many people think it is easy taking care of a freshwater fish, but in reality there is work involved. At time you will need to clean your freshwater tanks, they do require cleaning, so you will need to remove the fish and place them somewhere else for the time being.

When decorating the fish tank the gravel will sit at the bottom, this make the tank much more interesting and it gives a more real feel to it. Fish tank gravel can be bought in either natural or colored designs.

There are many tanks of various sizes and shapes, when choosing the tank for you home make sure the tanks size fits and it won’t be in the way or accidentally knocked over.

June 30, 2006

Well, as much as the walking tour through Old Montreal nourished my senses and architectural sensibilities, my stomach was in dire need of nutrition and I was debating whether I should plunk myself down at one of the enticing terrace cafés on Place Jacques Cartier. Then I literally stumbled over this beautiful small park, Place De La Dauversière off to the side of the main square. In the southeast corner of this space is a little gate that looked like the entrance to a garden and with my perennial curiosity I had to go check it out.

The view opened up into a beautiful French style horticultural sanctuary: the Governor’s Garden, an example of garden design of the New France era more than 200 years ago. The beautiful thing is that access is always free of charge and the extensive garden provides a welcome relief of nature in the middle of the stone buildings of Vieux Montréal.

Most of the plants are derived from species cultivated in New France and the garden is subdivided into three sections: the kitchen garden, an orchard and a pleasure garden. Benches invite you to sit down and enjoy the serenity of this green space. At the back of the garden is a ramp leading up to a restaurant, the “Cafe du Chateau”, with a large terrace covered by an awning that features wooden tables. I had found the perfect spot for a lunch.

So I sat down and started jotting down my impressions in my travel journal and perused the menu which features a variety of salads, sandwiches, desserts and refreshments. I decided on some light fare and ordered an endive salad with little balls of goat cheese, covered in pistachios, pine nuts and miniature croutons, followed by a wonderful Quebec cheese plate that featured three different types of Quebec-made cheese, fresh grapes, cut-up green apples, and a paste made from dry dates and toast.

The meal was very savoury and the contrasting tastes of the three cheeses together with the sweet tastes of the fruit and the date paste presented an interesting variety of flavours to my palate. I was enjoying my meal and noticed that from my table I could even see the cupola of the Bonsecours Market peaking out between the old buildings.

Unfortunately my serenity was cut short as the heavens opened up and a tremendous thunderstorm started pelting the city. I decided that rather than wait out this storm on the terrace of the Café du Chateau, I was going to use my time to actually explore the museum that was housed in the adjoining building.

The Chateau de Ramezay is a mansion that was built in 1705 for Claude de Ramezay, Montreal’s governor. Fourty years later it fell into the hands of the French West Indies Company which made it its headquarters. After the conquest in 1760 the building was occupied by the British. It is known that General Richard Montgomery and Benjamin Franklin, among other personalities, have visited the Château.

In the spring of 1893 the government owned the building, but it had no use for it and put it up for auction. It was saved from demolition and has been operating as a museum since 1895. For the last four years the building hosts a permanent exhibition about the history of Montreal and Quebec, covering prehistory all the way until the early 20th century.

As the thunderstorm was pelting the city I decided to educate myself a little more about early life in Montreal. The exhibits include historic paintings, furniture, as well as everyday items illustrating life over the last few hundred years in what started out as Ville-Marie and came to be known as Montreal. The items illustrating the day-to-day life of regular people fascinated me the most, such as ladies shoes, a fireman’s helmet or a children’s winter coat, a sleigh and a “pennyfarthing”, an early version of a bicycle, featuring an oversized front wheel and a tiny rear wheel. A loom and various every-day implements further illustrate life in the new colonies over the last couple of hundred years.

Until October 1, 2006 a temporary exhibition is also housed by the Chateau de Ramezay: “Gardening in Paris during the Monarchy” introduces the visitors to the formal gardens of Paris more than 200 years ago. An upcoming exhibition called “Crime and Punishment’ will talk about justice in the new colonies.

I had found the perfect way to deal with the thunderstorm: brush up on Montreal’s history at the Chateau de Ramezay. Now it was time to head back to rest up for my evening explorations of the St. Denis neighbourhood and a tasty Mexican dinner at La Iguana.

Lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymph nodes and is known as cancer of the lymphoid tissue. We know two categories of lymphomas: Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

We are going to talk about a rare type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma. This type of cancer can be defined as an enlargement of the population of malignant lymphoid cells, happening in the area of the lymph nodes and tissues. These cells have an unusual structure being considered as mutant cells because of their lack of development. Maturing improperly these cells become cancerous.

The lymphatic system helps the body to fight against infections or foreign particles. When the white cells are mature they seek for infections through the body. There are two types of white cells in the lymphatic system, the B cells and the T cells. Once an infection is found by the B cells, the second type of white cells, the T ones come to destroy it. This is how the immune system works.

Lymphomas are cancerous cells from the lymphatic system. The non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas that occur in the lymphatic system include follicular lymphomas, Burkitt’s lymphomas which are non-cleaved lymphomas, MALT lymphomas which are lymphomas from the marginal sides of the tissues, small and large cell lymphomas, and the subject of discussion, the mantle cell lymphomas (MCL).

The classification of the mantle cell lymphomas separates them into three categories: mantle zone type MCL cells, nodular type and immature (blastic) type. Diagnoses, in most of the cases, refer to mixed mantle or nodular type MCL.

The mantle cell lymphoma is a great concern, many specialists debating over this subject. Some consider it intermediate while others say that mantle cell lymphoma is a low-grade cancer because of its slow development. Both of these sides come with arguments based on studies and both sides are right. Patients suffering of blastic type MCL have less chances of survival comparing to the other MCL patients, because in these cases cancer spreads faster.

Persons suffering of mantle cell lymphoma are rarely under 50 and women represent a little more than a quarter in the patients number.

It’s not easy to say if a patient suffers of mantle cell lymphoma. Some believe that an immunologic test is required for a correct diagnosis.

Treatment is prescript by specialists, because each case is unique and is related to many factors like age, sex and especially stage of disease.

There’s a debate about different ways for potty training puppies.  One camp says you should use a dog-crate while the other favors paper training.  Both have their pros and cons.  In many ways, it comes down to your lifestyle.  If you’re not home very much, crate training is the way to go.  Even if you’re home all the time, crate training gives you more options than paper training.

There’s a great article about crate training here.

The Pew Research Center for the People & the Press.

Another issue to be addressed is that some of the historical background on many of the practices are based on specific exercises and postures that were created to facilitate specific energetic processes and little explanation other than to just do the exercises is commonly taught to beginners.

High level Chi Kung skills like so many other advanced practices can require years of dedication and practice to develop and many potential students of Chi Kung start because they see a demonstration or hear about a high level skill and desire to learn it. Unfortunately, many Chi Kung teachers feel that the beginner must earn the right to learn the real material and see little reason to give any incentive to the beginner. So, often training begins with a simple practice that does not contain any real immediate Chi activation so when the first practice is to stand in one place and breathe every day for several months or longer or practice the 8 postures without any incentive many would be Chi Kung Masters simply quit due to not understanding or not having enough patience for the traditional process. As a result there are few truly skilled Westerners in this art form. We feel it is time for this situation to change.

We are pleased to offer a text for Westerners to get a real glimpse and basic understanding into the practices of Chi activation, cultivation and flow that will give the practitioner enough knowledge and incentive to advance their studies in this fascinating discipline. We offer various programs and workshops in Chi Energy training from beginner to advanced and much of what is in this text is at the beginning of many of our programs. The information in this book applied to Tai Chi, martial arts or energetic arts of any kind will greatly aid and benefit those practices. We hope you enjoy this book and that it begins or adds to your journey in the Mind Body and Spirit Healing Arts.

By giving lessons and tuitions online, the university is able to reach out to these potential students who otherwise may never have a chance to study for a good university degree.

As the degree programs are designed to be long distance online courses, students and undergraduates can simply log on to their computer and start taking lessons straightaway. The convenience of the internet connection makes earning a university degree not only possible but much more affordable as well because the university does not need to count the costs and overhead it needs to spend should students attend classroom lessons. The savings are then passed on to the students.

How long to study for a long distant online degree? Well, this university claimed that on average, most students should complete their degree courses in just two or three years.

For students who are stretching their budgets, there are financial assistance and flexible fee payment plans. Students need to check with the university on the various forms of available financial aids.

Perhaps the most attractive thing about studying for a degree online is that students can study anytime they want to, study wherever they are without the need to travel and without hectic stressful timelines.

The university insist that their degree programs for their online students to be same exacting standard of high quality education, curriculum and resources offered at more than 100 University of Phoenix campuses and learning centers around the world.

Adult students can complete their university education at the times and places most convenient to them. All the students need is a computer, a phone connection, and an internet service provider. Most people in developed countries will have no problem setting this connection up or are already surfing the internet regularly.

With easy to use Internet access software, students can have access to lectures, questions and assignments from their professors and then they can print them out and study the educational materials off-line. Students will also have access to a full range of online research libraries and services. At the same time, they can interact with other successful professionals, sharing ideas, debating issues, and learning from their experience.

Throughout whatever degree courses the students are studying for, their teachers will provide guidance and feedback on their progress regularly.

All interaction is conducted online, so students can participate at their own time and convenience. They never have to rush from the office to class or miss a lecture because of a scheduling conflict.
